How can I search for communities?
On the Find Communities page you have 4 options:
- Option #1 - Search directly by city or county name.
- Option #2 - A wizard questions you about your preferences and runs
a sensitivity analysis based on your answers. This is a good option if you are not
sure where to start and want some guidance.
- Option #3 - Search for communities that are similar to a community
that you specify. If you know of a community that is a good place for your business,
this tool can help you find communities with comparable characteristics.
- Option #4 - You search by exactly which criteria are most important
to you, and all matching communities will be displayed in an unranked list.
How can I search for commercial properties?
There are three commercial property search options:
- You can search using the Find Properties page.
Use this option if you already know where you want to search for properties.
- You can search using the Advanced page, which combines
a property search with a community search. Use this option if you have very specific
requirements for both the community where you want to locate as well as the property
characteristics you are searching for.
- You can search from within the profile page of any community that has properties
listed through ZoomProspector.com.
What are people saying about ZoomProspector.com?
ZoomProspector.com has been covered in many
media sources, from major national publications such as Inc Magazine and
the Washington Post, to trusted technology sources such as TechCrunch, Mashable,

Where does the data come from?
We use many different data sources to power our community search engine. Old data
such as the 2000 US Census is too out-of-date for businesses to make important decisions
today. So we use the most up-to-date demographic, business and geographic data available.
You can determine our data sources by scrolling over the "i" icons next to each
variable. The pop-up boxes will inform you of the source and date for the data,
as well as provide you with a more detailed description of the variable and its
importance.
Why doesn't every community have commercial properties listed?
Communities with properties on ZoomProspector.com have subscribed to their own site
selection websites that are linked to ZoomProspector.com. If you are an economic

Once I find a property, how can I get more information about
the immediately surrounding area?
When you select a property listing from the search results screen, you are presented
with property details, as well as tab options for Full Property Details and
Local Map, Demographic Report Around Property, and Business Analysis Around Property.
These options will redirect you to a ZoomProspector network site where you can find
even more data at a more local level.
What determines which community is at the top of the search
results?
For Option #2 & #3, a sensitivity analysis attaches a score to each community,
and the communities are listed in order of their score. For Options #1 and #4,
the communities at the top of the search results are those that are an exact
match to the search and both list their properties
and subscribe to Community Connection
Pages.
I do not know where I want to locate and need help. Can your

location.
I am an economic developer. How can I educate users who are
visiting the site and searching for communities like mine, and point them to my
organization and the services it provides?
You may advertise your organization by subscribing to a
Community Connection Page, a fully customizable directory page where you
control the content and the style through our editing tools. A link will appear
in the profile page of your community (every city in the USA has already has a profile
page on ZoomProspector.com). Organizations with Community Connection Pages may also
be found in the economic development organization database, accessed through the
Economic Developers tab.
I am an economic developer. My community's local data is
quite different from what is on ZoomProspector.com. Why is there a discrepancy?
We use the most accurate data available that is comprehensive for all communities
in the country. Local data sources vary in their data collection methodology, and
they lack the consistency that is guaranteed by national third party sources. If

to show this information.
