EDFC was founded in 1995 through the efforts of the County of Mendocino and the four incorporated jurisdictions: Willits, Ukiah, Point Arena, and Fort Bragg. Our purpose is as relevant today as it was in 1995: to provide a collaborative approach to economic development and to provide an alternative source of financing to Mendocino County businesses that are unable to access bank financing.
EDFC is a mission-based, business lender, which means that we make loans to create jobs and boost our economy. We are non-profit organization and we help our community by investing in small business.
EDFC business loans range from $5,000 to $250,000. We offer fixed interest rates starting at 6% APR. Interest rates are based on the size of the loan and the risk rating. EDFC provides a critical link between the public and private sectors acting not just as a lender but also as an organization with board representation from all areas of the county. EDFC works with businesses, industry partner organizations, other non-profit organizations, and local governments to support economic development in Mendocino County.We offer professional services to support economic development activities including research, analysis, and reporting on the local economy, project feasibility studies, economic surveys, strategy implementation, and partnership coordination.
